It was said that popular literature includes literary writings which is intended for large masses. Nowadays, it can be a magazine, brochure and even blogs. Typically, this kind of writing is intended for people of all ages, gender and social class – usually read by common people. Popular literature includes poetry, prose, drama and fiction - as the most popular writing.      I have also gained the knowledge of the various characteristic of popular literature whereas it contains vivid, racy and exciting plot. EMERGENT LITERATURE      In our course, Contemporary, Popular and Emergent Literature, we have tackled about emergent literature. According to what LBCI have learned, emergent or emerging literature refers to new genres of scholarly discourse such as online collaborative spaces, academic blogs, websites, and e-prints. Emergent literature is also said to be the literature  existing nowadays. It uses unconventional techniques, and doesn’t need to be published, to be converted to movie unlike popular literature.    CONTEMPORARY LITRATURE      In our course entitled Contemporary, Popular and Emergent Literature, we have tackled all about the Contemporary Literature. Throughout the course,  I have learned that contemporary literature is written after the World War II through the current day. The content is usually the reflection of social and political viewpoint. Thus, themes are real-life situations which awaken the spirit and soul of people such as inequality, terrorism, politics, ethics and morals, globalization, race and gender and many more. The elements of contemporary literature are: real life and believable stories, realistic characters and events and reflects social, political, psychological, cultural, religious and personal issues. Clearly, it portrays the harsh and dark reality of life. Literary works are both prose and poetry. Prose are usually fiction such as novel, novellas, drama and essays.
